We started our big day with a big breakfast, at the La Cala Barceloneta, I got a coke and Pancakes while mum got a coffee and the Americano, which was so big we both had to eat it,
We then started our hop on hop off tour on the red route where we bumped into a fellow New Zealander from Hamilton.
On our route we first saw the modern side of Barcelona with modern architecture and high rise apartments, we then saw Torre de les Aigües del Besòs and Torre Glòries before we stopped and got off at the Basílica de la Sagrada Família. We took many photos and also helped a group take a family photo, before resting at McDonalds for a refresher and hopping back on the bus.
We hopped back on the bus again and passed by the Casa Batlló, Drac de ferro, Plaza de toros de las Arenas and then through Plaça d'Espanya to where we can see Montjuïc National Palace and finally Poble Espanyol, before hopping off for the last time near the top of Parc Montjuïc.
We had an amazing view of the city, especially on the way down to the beach on the Gondola, where we cooled off with an ice block. We decided to go for a ride around the Ferris Wheel, then shared a Sangria before heading back to our hotel.
Since we enjoyed La Cala so much we returned for dinner. I got a Taco and coke and mum had chicken wings with BBQ sauce, followed by some homemade pudding and cream caramel.
