There wasn't much choice for breakfast today, at the hotel, so I had three croissants and a yoghurt and mum had a couple of croissants as well. We then hopped back on the bus for a long drive to Switzerland.
Today, we were near the back of the bus, when we noticed water randomly start leaking from the camera, near the back exit door and along the aircon. Once we got over our leaky problem, we carried on to Lucerne. It was a beautiful ride, passing by the Alps and some lakes. We had a few pit stops on the way, to stretch our legs and use the restrooms. At one of the stops there were lots of animals, made out of bits of scrap metal, screws, bolts, nuts, cogs etc., including Donkey from Shrek. We also saw a display of ducks representing famous people and characters, which apparently is quite big in Europe.
We had lunch at one of the pitstops. The food at the pitstops was always very expensive, including today's lunch. I had a cabonara and mum had a spaghetti dish.
When we got to Lucerne, some of the others were doing a boat tour of the Lake, but we decided not to do this tour, and looked around the shops instead. While wandering around the town we saw a cute little tourist train and some more funny ducks. Mum ended up buying a cowbell, as she likes buying different instruments from different countries, and a long horn wouldn't fit in her bag, and I bought a little St Bernard dog to hang from my carry-on bag. Mayra then took us all to the lion in the rock memorial before getting back on the bus to go to our hotel in Wilderswil for the night.
Our hotel was in a small village near Jungfraujoch. It was quite an old hotel with no lifts, so they used some young, teenage, local football club members, wearing bibs saying Lift 1 or Lift 2 to carry our bags up the stairs to our rooms. Fortunately, for them, we were only on the first floor. Our room had a squeaky floor with a shower over the bath and a toilet in the bathroom while the sink was in the bedroom. We had a beautiful view of the mountain from our window.
We all had dinner together, as it was included in the tour. It consisted of curried rice, mince and salad, which I didn't have, with coconut covered bananas, which were really nice. Mayra had bought her favourite snack, drink and Swiss chocolates, while in Lucerne, to share with us at dinner. The drink tasted, and looked, like white wine, but was actually made from milk. The snack tasted like BBQ chips, but don't tell her that or she'll get upset. We then went for a late evening stroll up the road before heading back to our room, as we have a big day tomorrow.
